چکیده
Asphaltenes are known to cause problems related flocculation, precipitation, and plugging, either in the formation, production lines, processing equipment. Different models have been proposed predict thermodynamic conditions under which asphaltenes precipitate over past years. This work analyses performance of various on their capability match literature experimental data precipitated asphaltene mass fractions. Twenty-five different based equation-of-state (EoS), polymer solution, thermodynamic-colloidal theories were identified. The performance/test datasets collected classified according pressure/temperature conditions, CO2, n-C5/n-C7 gas, liquid titrations. Statistical analysis, including residuals, parity plots, average absolute relative deviation (AARD, %), used compare adequacy selected models. Results confirmed need for further model development general applications wide pressure, temperature, composition intervals.

Solubility Parameter of Fluids from Molecular Thermodynamic Model
The modified square well Potential is combined with perturbed-hard-trimer-chain (PHTC) EOS to predict the solubility parameter of several fluids including alkanes, refrigerants and molten polymers. The performance of the proposed model has been evaluated by predicting the solubility parameter of 12 hydrocarbons,3 refrigerants, and 12 polymers. From the 263 data points for hydrocarbons and refri...
متن کاملMolecular-Thermodynamic Framework for Asphaltene-Oil Equilibria
Asphaltene precipitation is a perennial problem in producing and rejming crude oils. To avoid precipitation, it is usefid to know the solubility of asphaltenes in petroleum liquids as a function of temperature, pressure and liquid-phase composition In the novel molecular-thermodynamic flamework presented here, both asphaltenes and resins are represented by pseudo-pure components while all other...
متن کاملThermodynamic Modeling and Experimental Studies of Bayerite Precipitation from Aluminate Solution: Temperature and pH Effect
Bayerite is one of the phases of aluminum hydroxide which is precipitated by the carbonation of aluminate solutions obtained from sintered nepheline syenite leaching. In this study, the conditions for the bayerite formation were predicted by thermodynamic modeling of the carbonation process and the Bromley- Zemaitis model was used for this purpose. Carbonation experiments were carried out a...
متن کاملAsphaltene Precipitation in Crude Oils: Theory and Experiments
The precipitation of asphaltenes in two Mexican crude oils was measured using a combination of high-pressure isothermal expansion and atmospheric titration with nalkanes. Experiments were carried out from the liveand tank-oil type of samples of the same crude oils. For the oils investigated, compositional data, precipitation phase diagrams, and bubble point pressures are reported. A theoretical...
متن کاملAnalysis of Predictive Thermodynamic Models for Estimation of Polycyclic Aromatic Solid Solubility in Hot Pressurized Water
The ability of two thermodynamic approaches to predict the solubility of solid compounds in hot pressurized water is studied and compared. The Regular Solution Theory, based on the solubility parameter concept, and UNIFACbased models were applied to calculate the solute activity coefficient and then, solubility predictions were compared with experimental data reported in the literature. The ana...
